Francesco Frulio

Furniture Design FiberFlax Stool by Francesco Frulio The stool borns with the aim of creating a piece of furniture made of a new bio-composite developed by the designer, known as Fiberflax. This material is made of flax and wool felt, both local materials from the Sardinian craft tradition. The process used for the making of the stool's seat is a manufacturing technique used in the aerospace industry, known as VARTM(Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding)for the making of high-performance composites. The stool, by creating a continuum between tradition and modernity, highlights how they can coexist in harmony to produce original solutions.
